Meet Raquel
Hi, I'm Raquel, my family, friends and readers call me Rachel! I am a children's book author, a proud mom of two adults, and founded Rkh Publishing, a Texas press in 2023. I was born in SW Florida and grew up in a small agricultural town called Immokalee. I have called the Dallas/Fort Worth area home for the last twenty years. When I'm not writing, you can usually find me cooking, singing, catching a movie or dinner with my kids. As a mother and a published author, I believe early learning should do more than just teach the alphabet and vocabulary—it should help build strong bonds.
As a fifth-generation Mexican-American, I am deeply proud of my heritage and it was import at to me to share both of my native languages through my children's books. My books offer flexible reading options so they can be read entirely in English, entirely in Spanish, or a combination of both languages. The choice is yours to select the language in which to read my books and can be tailored to fit your child's comfort and learning level.
I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is a love for reading, paired with the confidence of knowing they are loved, seen, heard, and validated.
My A to Z Kids series is designed for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary students up to the second grade. These critical early years are vital for young minds, and my series provides a peaceful environment that champions a child's learning and unique interests.
This is more than just an alphabet series—it is a celebration of language, diversity, and belonging. Because our world is beautifully diverse, these books are written in both English and Spanish, and the stories are never limited to one culture or nationality. I intentionally feature a vibrant cast of characters and hope children will see a reflection of themselves, a friend, or their community within the pages of my books.
I center my stories around positive, happy narratives and meaningful relationships between children and the trusted adults who actively listen, champion their learning milestones and partake in their hobbies.
